The case centered on allegations brought by former “Bachelor” star Clayton Echard and another Arizona man, Gregory Gillespie, both of whom prosecutors say were targeted by the false pre… Laura Michelle Owens, a 36-year-old woman from Scottsdale, is accused of fabricating pregnancies and medical evidence involving multiple men, including former "Bachelor" star Clayton Echard and another Arizona man, Gregory Gillespie. The case began in 2023 after Owens filed a paternity lawsuit against Echard claiming she was pregnant with his twins and seeking child support. Echard disputed these claims, but a family court judge identified inconsistencies in Owens’ testimony and referred the matter to prosecutors for further investigation in July 2024. In May 2025, a grand jury indicted Owens on seven felony counts, including fraudulent schemes and artifices, forgery, perjury and tampering with physical evidence. The remaining 10 felony charges were dismissed as part of the agreement.
