Beef jerky sold in Missouri recalled after bypassing federal inspection
A beef jerky recall spanning seven states affects multiple flavors after regulators said the products weren’t properly inspected. Imperio Distributions LLC is recalling over 900 pounds of beef jerky sold in Missouri without federal inspection. The Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a recall notice stating that food produced without inspection may contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that could put consumer health and safety at risk. The affected products were distributed to stores in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin. There have been no reports of related illness or injury, but consumers should contact their healthcare provider.
