Kansas City man shot woman, left her to die in the street

Simmons, 37, has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and three counts of Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. The charges stem from a shooting incident that occurred on October 18 near East 42nd Street and Forest Avenue in Kansas City. The victim was found with a gunshot wound to her chest and later declared deceased. Police used surveillance video, including city camera footage, to identify the defendant. Simmons is being held without bond and being held at Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.
