Driver arrested after fleeing scene of deadly hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Kansas City
KCPD says a witness followed the suspect driver from the scene of the collision and alerted police to their location One person is dead and another is in police custody following a hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Kansas City, Missouri, on June 8. The collision occurred before midnight on Independence and Chelsea Avenues near Northeast Middle School. The driver of a Ford Focus allegedly pulled out of a parking lot onto the shoulder of Independence Avenue and onto the roadway, leading to the collision where it hit a motorcycle, throwing the driver off his bike. The unidentified driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital where he died several hours later. A witness followed the Ford Focus driver from the scene of the collision and alerted police to their location. The Ford Focus is currently being investigated for impairment and the driver is being questioned for possible impairment.

TANKER TRUCK FLIPPED OVER. AND WE BEGIN WITH THE BREAKING NEWS IN NORTHEAST KANSAS CITY, WHERE AT LATE NIGHT CRASH LEAVES A MOTORCYCLIST DEAD. IT HAPPENED JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT AT INDEPENDENCE AND CHELSEA AVENUES CLOSE BY. NORTHEAST MIDDLE SCHOOL OFFICERS SAY THE DRIVER OF A FORD FOCUS PULLED OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND ONTO THE SHOULDER OF INDEPENDENCE AVENUE. THAT FOCUS HIT A MOTORCYCLE DRIVING THE THROWING THE DRIVER OFF HIS BIKE. HE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE HE DIED HOURS LATER. POLICE SAY THE DRIVER OF THE FORD FOCUS TOOK OFF AND WITNESSED FOLLOWED HIM, AND HE WAS LATE
