KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - One woman is in life-threatening condition after her SUV flipped off of Highway 71 in Kansas City over the weekend.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says that just before 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, emergency crews were called to the area of Highway 71 and 77th St. with reports of a single-vehicle collision.
When first responders arrived, they said they found a gray Chrysler 200 had been speeding north on the highway when the driver came upon slower traffic. She lost control of the vehicle and veered left off the roadway where the SUV hit soft grass and flipped.
KCPD indicated that the SUV continued on to hit the three-strand barrier which kept it from going into southbound traffic. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
