Spire customers in Kansas City area to see decrease in natural gas rates
Spire Energy says the cost of natural gas is going down for customers in western Missouri. Spire Energy is reducing its natural gas rate for customers in the Kansas City area, where it will drop from $1.02 per hundred cubic feet of natural gas to 92 cents, making the average monthly bill about six percent cheaper. This is the second decrease in natural gas rates in over six months for Spire customers. The change is expected to take effect on June 5. The rate change affects Spire West, which covers the following counties.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Some good news for natural gas customers in part of the Kansas City area.
Spire Energy says the cost of natural gas is going down for customers in western Missouri.
The utility company said it will decrease its gas rate from a $1.02 per hundred cubic feet of natural gas to 92 cents.
That means the average monthly bill for customers will be about six percent cheaper.
This is the second time in just over six months natural gas rates have gone down for Spire customers.
Spire said it hopes the current market conditions will give customers even smaller natural gas prices before the winter and heating season.
The change is expected to take effect beginning Wednesday, June 5.
The rate change will only affect Spire West, which covers the following counties: Andrew, Barry, Barton, Bates, Buchanan, Carroll, Cass, Cedar, Christian, Clay, Clinton, Dade, DeKalb, Greene, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jasper, Johnson, Lafayette, Lawrence, McDonald, Moniteau, Pettis, Platte, Ray, Saline, Stone and Vernon.
