Woman pleads no contest in killing of malnourished baby who died of blockage
An Overland Park woman accused of abusing and killing her baby pleaded no contest to the charges on Friday. Alexis Siera Williams, a woman accused of murdering her baby, has pleaded no contest to multiple charges including second-degree murder and aggravated endangerment of a child. The child, who was malnourished and underdeveloped, died of an intestinal blockage due to an internal injury. Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. Kevin Martenia, who is also facing charges in relation to this case, is set to stand trial in 2027.
