Cops saw child porn pop up on Wichita man’s phone, more on laptop ‘in plain view’
Law enforcement learned that Michael Eugene Watley had the explicit images after his companion saw them and called 911, court records say. Michael Eugene Watley, a 59-year-old man from Wichita, has been sentenced to federal prison for more than 12 years on child porn charges after his companion found illegal sexual images of children on his phone. Watley was already a convicted sex offender when he had the pornographic material. The court recommended that he serve the 151-month sentence at FCI Englewood, a federal correctional facility in Colorado, so he can participate in sex offender treatment. The child pornography on Watley's devices included images of prepubescent children younger than 12 being “subjected to sex acts” on them.
