Grand jury indicts man in death of Kansas City USPS worker killed in hit-and-run crash

A Jackson County grand jury has charged a 24-year-old man for a hit-and-run crash that killed a Kansas City postal service worker earlier this year. A Jackson County grand jury has indicted Calvin L. Boyles, 24, for the death of 34-year-old Kansas City postal service worker, Gerald G. Nevels, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on May 13. Boyle is charged with one count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, another count of leaving the scene of an accident, and driving with a revoked or suspended license. The indictment means Boyles will not need a preliminary hearing and he is approved for a jury trial. The charges stem from the same charges Jackson County prosecutors filed earlier this month. An arraignment is scheduled for December 22.
