KCPD: Driver killed after car travels down embankment, strikes a tree

The driver of a red Mercedes C590 was traveling eastbound on Blue Parkway at a high rate of speed and failed to control the curve of the roadway, leading off the roadway and down an embankment. The car hit a large tree in the ravine. The sole occupant of the Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene. This is the death toll of 57 compared to 54 at this time of year.
