Locally owned accessories store will close on Kansas City’s Plaza after 5 years

The jewelry brand will keep operating its other area store. Nickel & Suede, a Liberty-based accessories business, will close its doors on the Country Club Plaza in 2025. The retailer, located across the street from the Apple store, carried everyday leather earrings, handbags and belts. The business, founded in 2014, will continue to operate an e-commerce site and a Liberty store. This departure comes amid other high-profile changes in the Plaza, including the closure of insurance brokerage Lockton and Beauty Brands.
