Driver dies after vehicle runs off road, hits tree in south Kansas City
A preliminary investigation indicated that the crash happened as a red Mercedes C590 sped east on Blue Parkway. One person died in a single-vehicle crash in Kansas City's Unity Ridge neighborhood early Saturday morning, according to police. The driver of a Mercedes C590 was pronounced dead at the scene after the car ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree, leading to a steep embankment and resulting in a ravine. The crash occurred near 13670 Blue Parkway. The sole occupant of the Mercedes was pronounced pronounced dead by paramedics at the hospital. This is the 57th traffic fatality in Kansas city this year, according data from the city's police department. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
