Mystery sludge, roaches by meat, rotting mouse & more at Wichita KS restaurants

NEW LIST: See the eight restaurants, hotels and other businesses in and around Wichita that failed health inspections Oct. 11-17. Eight restaurants and other businesses in Sedgwick County, Kansas, were found non-compliant with state regulations during recent food safety and lodging inspections. The violations included "unidentified sludge" on equipment, cockroaches in a meat department, sticky film on the floor, a decomposing mouse stuck to a glue trap, flies landing on a cutting board, and filthy kitchen conditions. The inspections are meant to protect the public from foodborne illnesses and other health risks. Most of these violations are immediately addressed, but some may take longer due to pest infestations, power outages and plumbing issues. The list was compiled on Oct. 22 using information available from the state.
