'No more Jackson County for sure': Wife of Royals owner reacts to election results

A spokesman for the Royals says team leaders are taking time to evaluate their options, and decisions still need to be made. The wife of Kansas City Royals owner John Sherman, Marny Sherman, has stated that the Royals and Chiefs are no longer negotiating with Jackson County, and the community would be lucky if both teams ended up in Kansas. These comments were made in response to messages on her Facebook page. Jackson County voters overwhelmingly defeated a stadium sales tax referendum to fund a new Crossroads ballpark and maintenance of Arrowhead Stadium. While not directly speaking on behalf of either team, Jackson County Legislator Manny Abarca believes these comments are spot on. Acting Unified Government of Wyandotte County Mayor/CEO Tom Burroughs believes Missouri leaders will do everything possible to keep the teams in their state. A spokesman for the Royals said there's nothing new to announce about the Chiefs and Royals.
